Christine Gallagher posted an excellent article over at Social Media Examiner titled “4 Facebook Marketing Myths and How to Overcome Them.” The article is a must read for businesses and/or brands in regards to marketing a Facebook Fan page. A few key points that hit home for me:

• First, the biggest thing to understand is why you’re on Facebook. What’s your strategy? What are your goals? Again, if you don’t know why you’re there, it becomes a lot easier to waste time aimlessly floating around.
• Before you even get on Facebook, you should have a website or blog to drive people to first.
• No matter the size of your business, it’s a good idea to set up a page.
