My Facebook Fan Page. Set up? Yes. Marketed correctly? Getting there.
Christine Gallagher posted an excellent article over at Social Media Examiner titled “4 Facebook Marketing Myths and How to Overcome Them.” The article is a must read for businesses and/or brands in regards to marketing a Facebook Fan page. A few key points that hit home for me:
- First, the biggest thing to understand is why you’re on Facebook. What’s your strategy? What are your goals? Again, if you don’t know why you’re there, it becomes a lot easier to waste time aimlessly floating around.
- Before you even get on Facebook, you should have a website or blog to drive people to first.
- No matter the size of your business, it’s a good idea to set up a page.
